Long before ShellBlack earned a reputation as one of the nation’s premier Salesforce consulting firms, our namesake was earning his stripes as a thought leader and highly sought-after problem solver. In this video profile, Shell discusses the company’s origins, the often-untapped potential of Salesforce, and the team’s passion for helping financial services clients achieve more.
Transcription of the video:
I’m Shell Black. I started consulting on Salesforce in 2005, and helped dozens of companies achieve more. I started earning Salesforce certifications. I went on to launch a blog comprised of how-to tutorials and tips and tricks which gained popularity very quickly. I then took my Salesforce tutorial content to the next level with the ShellBlack Whiteboard YouTube series. That’s been a huge success, and today that’s had more than two million minutes watched. As a result, companies sought me out for Salesforce engagements.
By early 2012, with a small team of consultants, I started working on ShellBlack full-time and I never looked back. I was recognized by Salesforce for my community contributions, and I was inducted as a Salesforce MVP. I started speaking at Dreamforce, which is the worldwide Salesforce conference in San Francisco. I’ve been selected to present there several years running.
ShellBlack isn’t just me anymore. We have more than 50 team members across all four time zones of the contiguous United States.
Our secret sauce is our consultants, they’re experience, tenured and many of them have worked in financial services. Our consultants, on average have more than a decade of experience solving real world problems with Salesforce, and each of them hold multiple certifications.
When Salesforce started specializing on industry verticals, I knew financial services was the logical choice for us. We had the customer base. I knew my firsthand experience as both a seasoned Salesforce consultant and a frontline financial services user would make all the difference. Today, financial services engagements make up 75% of our business.
If you’re looking at, or already have Salesforce, and you need an experienced, tenured team that understands the financial services sector, you need ShellBlack.
